Preparing a storyboard

A storyboard is a document that can be concise or detailed, demonstrating the intended learning experience and serving as a quality assurance tool. This module focuses on the strategic thinking behind why, when, and how storyboards save time and money in the learning design process.

▪     Explain why a storyboard helps a project meet its time, cost, and quality targets.

▪     Determine when a storyboard is necessary for an online project, considering factors like project size, complexity, and team structure.

▪     Describe the core elements that each storyboard needs to include, such as on-screen text, scripts, videos, images, interactive descriptions, and quiz behaviour.

▪     Understand who uses a storyboard in a project and why it adds value to their role.

▪     Adapt storyboard features based on the audience and the authoring tool being used.

▪     Recognise the various ways a storyboard can be prepared, including written documents and visual documents.
