Skillbuilder has been developed by Like-Minded Learning, a team of learning and development specialists based in Aotearoa New Zealand. For over a decade, we’ve partnered with organisations to create impactful learning experiences that are practical, people-centred, and purpose-driven.
We’ve taken that same experience and expertise and channelled it into Skillbuilder, a dedicated space where learning designers can grow their own practice.
Why we built Skillbuilder
We know that learning design is a profession that never stands still. New tools, new approaches, and new expectations mean that keeping your skills sharp is essential. But we also know that professional development opportunities can be hard to access, expensive, or not tailored to what learning designers actually need.
Skillbuilder was created to change that. Our goal is simple: to make high-quality, practical training in learning design available to anyone who wants to strengthen their skills, no matter where they are in their career.
What you'll find here
Skillbuilder offers short, focused modules on core skills every learning designer needs, from writing learning objectives to building storyboards. You can choose individual modules to fill specific gaps, or follow a curated pathway that takes you on a structured journey of growth. And if you want extra support, you can add personalised feedback from experienced practitioners who understand the realities of the job.
