What is Skillbuilder?
Skillbuilder is a learning store designed specifically for learning designers. We offer practical, self-paced courses and curated pathways that help you develop your skills and confidence in the profession.
Who are the modules for?
Our modules are designed for learning and instructional designers at any stage of their career. Whether you’re new to the field, looking to refresh your knowledge, or wanting to deepen expertise in a specific area.
Do I need previous experience to take a module?
No. Some modules are beginner-friendly, while others dive into more advanced topics. Each module page outlines the recommended level so you can pick the right one for you.

What’s the difference between a module and a pathway?
A module (or course) focuses on a single topic, such as writing learning objectives. A pathway is a curated collection of courses that takes you through a sequence of topics designed to build capability in a broader area.
Can I buy just one module?
Yes. You can purchase individual modules or choose a pathway if you’d like a structured learning journey.
Do the modules include assessments or certificates?
Yes. Most modules include short knowledge checks, and upon completion you’ll receive a digital badge to recognise your achievement. Complete a pathway and you'll get a digital certificate.
How long does each module take?
It varies by topic and user, but most modules can be completed in 30–60 minutes. Pathways combine multiple modules, so they’ll take considerably longer.

How do I access my modules?
Once you purchase a module or pathway through the Skillbuilder store, you’ll receive instant access to our Totara LMS, where your learning will be hosted.
Do I need to install any software?
No. Our courses run in your web browser. All you need is an internet connection.
Can I learn on mobile or tablet?
Yes. All modules are fully responsive, so you can access them on desktop, tablet, or mobile.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. When you log back into the LMS, you’ll pick up where you left off.
Payments and pricing

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards via Shopify’s secure checkout.
Do you offer bulk or team discounts?
Yes. The more modules you purchase the more you save. And if you’re looking to purchase courses for a team, please contact us for additional options.
Can I get a refund?
We want you to be confident in your purchase. Refunds may be available if you haven’t yet accessed the course. See our refund policy for details.
Support and troubleshooting

I can’t log in to my course. What should I do?
Check the email you used at checkout for your access link. If you’re still having trouble, contact our support team.
I didn’t receive my login details. What now?
Sometimes emails land in spam folders, so check there first. If you still can’t find them, get in touch and we’ll resend your access link.
The course isn't loading properly. What can I do?
Try refreshing the page or using a different browser (Chrome or Edge usually works best). If issues persist, contact support.
