The Learning and Development Manager Pathway
Whichever way you got to this stage in your career, well done!
What you can learn
You probably already have some amazing skills in learning design from your previous experience that got you where you are today.
These modules will build on what you already bring to your role. When you are ready to start on the L&D Managers pathway, there are five modules that you need to work through to achieve the skills.
- The Learning Design and Development Process
- Roles and Responsibilities
- Creating eLearning guidelines and standards
- Scoping the project
- Costing eLearning
The first two modules are also included in other pathways, so you may have completed them already, in which case this transfers over and you don’t need to pay for, or do them, again.
Achieve Foundation Skills (Completion)
For each module completed, you will be awarded a Core Skills Learning and Development Manager electronic badge.
If you complete all five courses, you will also be awarded a certificate of Core Skills (Completion).
Achieve Foundation Skills (Applied)
If you would like to elevate this to show competency, rather than completion, you can apply to have your real work and reviewed and receive personalised feedback. When the reviewer is satisfied that you can understand and apply the learning you will be upgraded to an applied certificate.
You will need to purchase the Elevate to Applied Learning module in addition to your pathway purchase.
Elevate to Applied Learning
If you want to contextualise the learning to your workplace and to your role, you can work directly with our expert learning designers. They will review how you are applying the learning in your context and give specific feedback on real projects and real situations.
The real value of this is for those working through our pathways. It changes certificate and badge of completion, to an applied certificate or badge, which will provide evidence of your competency, not just completion of the module.

What else can I do to develop my manager skills?
Take advantage of the 'pick-and-mix' approach
Some or all of the modules in the Learning and Development Manager pathway would be a fantastic starting point, and working with one of our learning designers to level up to Platinum would be amazing, but we also offer you the opportunity to mix and match online training with personal training, coaching and mentoring.
In-person training
You may already be very capable in learning design and could have a few years of experience under your belt. When you look at these modules, you may wonder if you need to start from the beginning, or are there just a few specific things that you want to work on.
Book in for some tailored and specific 1-on-1 specific training. This will be time and money well-spent.
Coaching and mentoring
If you’ve already levelled-up to Platinum, and are still hungry for more, we can tailor a coaching or mentoring package to suit exactly where you are in your own journey, or we can work with you to grow the skills in your team.
Coaching and mentoring takes you up another notch, whether it is for your current job or for your next job interview.
