Learning objectives

When you have completed the learning in this module and successfully completed the learning activities, you will be able to do the following tasks.

     Explain what copyright is and identify why it is relevant when developing learning experiences.

     Adhere to copyright legislation, specifically The Copyright Act (1994), when creating material and apply copyright principles specifically to the use of photos, images, videos, text, quotes, statistics, and figures in learning design.

     Explain what Creative Commons licencing is, know the six different types and how it’s relevant to an instructional designer.

     Attribute accurately the details needed for giving creator credit, including name, title, source, copyright information, license, and any changes made.

     Recognise actions that constitute copyright infringement and understand the potential consequences.

     Follow a decision process when encountering potential copyright issues to determine appropriate use or action.
